Optometric Technician
We are looking for a personable optometric technician to join our team! Mountain Brook Eye Care is a family-owned optometry practice in Lane Parke/Mountain Brook Village embarking on its third year of business. We provide a tailored approach to comprehensive eye exams and a boutique optical featuring independent luxury eye wear brands. In our small office setting, our technician will have the benefit of developing personal relationships with our patients, who are members of our community.
Primary Job Functions:
- Initiates the patient exam and helps determine patient needs and expectations.
- Gathers opening data points by collecting an ocular history and conducting preliminary tests.
- Performs ancillary tests when indicated by the optometrist.
- Trains and educates patients on proper contact lens installation, removal and care.
- Assists the doctor with records, scribing and managing patient flow.
- Manages medical supplies, equipment upkeep and contact lens trial sets.
- Assists with front desk duties, including greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurance, and scheduling appointments.
- Has the opportunity for optical training in the areas of frame selection, fitting, adjusting and dispensing.
- Wage range available, depending upon experience
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday (no weekends)
